The Russia-Ukraine war is still ongoing. Even if diplomatic relations continue, the fact that no agreement or compromise has yet been reached complicates the situation. It's impossible to predict whether the war will definitely continue or when it will end, as the future of this war depends on many variables (e.g., diplomatic negotiations, the parties' strategies, international pressure, etc.). Therefore, the Russia-Ukraine war remains a constant in our lives.
NATO continues to provide aid to Ukraine in this ongoing conflict. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated in his latest statement that he believes funding commitments covering the purchase of US-made weapons for Ukraine's military needs will reach $5 billion (€4.3 billion) by the end of the year. This funding is intended to address the gap in Ukraine's military needs. Not only the US but also other allies have provided assistance. To date, more than 20 allies have contributed to this program. For example, Canada (€171 million), the Netherlands (€24 million), Norway, Poland, and Germany have announced new commitments totaling €429 million. Austria and New Zealand, which are not NATO members but wish to participate in the program, have also decided to participate.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that these new commitments, in the program launched five months ago, are moving NATO towards its $5 billion target by the end of the year.
Ukraine is estimated to need at least €83 billion for its military needs over the next two years. European countries are currently Ukraine's largest providers of military and macrofinancial support and are expected to shoulder a larger share of the burden and provide further support. Rutte also stated that they expect commitments to increase and continue at $1 billion per month in the coming period. "Much more funding will be needed for next year," Rutte said, emphasizing that the annual total could reach "$15 billion, perhaps even more."
As a result, Ukraine is receiving significant support from NATO and other European countries during the Russia-Ukraine war. It's clear that this aid and support will continue to grow.
