Yağmur Ekin ŞAHİN tarafından

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UN Volunteers started an important project in Africa. This project helps migrants who return to their home countries. The name of the project is a mentorship network. It supports people and helps them start a new life in their country.

Purpose of the Project, Many people move to other countries to find better jobs or better living conditions. However, some people must return to their home countries. When they return, life can be difficult. They may not find a job, and they may feel alone or stressed. This project helps these people. It gives support and makes their lives easier. The main goal is to help migrants feel safe, strong, and ready for a new start.

Mentorship System, In this project, there are volunteer mentors. At the beginning, about 50 mentors work in the program. These mentors talk to migrants and guide them. They listen to their problems and give advice. Some mentors were migrants before. Because of this, they understand the situation better. They can share their experiences and help others more effectively.

Duties of Mentors, Mentors have many important duties. First, they help migrants find jobs. They also give information about education and training programs. Second, they help migrants connect with society. For example, they introduce them to local people and communities.

Finally, they give emotional support. They help migrants feel happy, confident, and less alone. This support is very important for a better life.

Where the Project Takes Place, This project takes place in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is active in countries such as Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Ivory Coast. In the future, the project may expand to more countries. This means more migrants can receive help and support.

Importance of the Project, This project is very important because returning migrants often face many problems. They may not have jobs, money, or social support. With this mentorship network, they feel stronger and more hopeful. They can build a better future. Also, this project helps create stronger communities and better social connections.

In conclusion, the mentorship network by IOM and UN Volunteers is a very useful project. It helps migrants return to normal life and start again.  This project shows that support and cooperation are very important. In the future, similar projects can help even more people around the world.
