Escalation of the U.S.–Israel–Iran Conflict and Its Global Diplomatic Implications

Bünyamin Memiş tarafından

On the seventh day of the U.S.–Israel war, Tehran and several other Iranian cities were bombed by intense air strikes. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned that the bombardment was about to increase “dramatically.”

The Israeli army announced on Friday morning that it had launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran and that the war had entered a “new phase,” targeting what it described as “regime infrastructure.” The United States reported that B‑2 bombers had dropped dozens of bunker‑penetrating bombs on deeply buried ballistic missile launch sites inside the country.

Statements indicating that the course of the war is steadily escalating show that the conflict is no longer limited to the Middle East but has reached a level capable of affecting global diplomacy.

It was reported that 20 people were killed in Shiraz. According to a statement by the Iranian Red Crescent, the number of people killed in the attacks since Saturday has risen to at least 1,332. Attacks were also reported in several Iranian cities, including Shiraz, Qom, Isfahan, and Kermanshah, where many missile bases are located.

Celil Hasani, the deputy governor of Fars province, told Iranian state media that 20 people were killed and 30 were injured in an attack in the Zibashahr district of Shiraz.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that two medical personnel were also killed in the city.

According to Tasnim, at least six people were injured in a missile strike carried out by Israel on residential areas in Poldokhtar, located in Iran’s western province of Lorestan.

The Israeli military claimed that its air force struck six Iranian missile launchers overnight and destroyed them before they could fire toward Israeli territory. It also claimed to have destroyed three advanced Iranian defense systems.

In the city of Qom, the Israeli army warned residents of the Shokouhiyeh industrial area to evacuate the designated zone within hours, threatening that their lives would be at risk if they failed to leave.

As tensions continue to rise, the conflict is increasingly expanding without a clear distinction between civilians and soldiers. Diplomatic norms and international law are being violated more frequently as the crisis deepens. Eventually, someone will have to put an end to this situation, and that actor may be a state or a group of states.
