The situation in Gaza today is very serious and sad. The war between Israel and Hamas has continued for many months. Thousands of people have died, and many families have lost their homes. Children, women, and elderly people are suffering the most. Many countries around the world are calling for peace, but there is still no agreement between the two sides. The war started again after a short ceasefire ended in early 2025. Israel says it is fighting to destroy Hamas and to bring back hostages who were taken last year. On the other side, Hamas says it is fighting for the freedom of Palestine. Because of the fighting, many cities in Gaza have been destroyed. Schools, hospitals, and mosques have been hit by air strikes. The people who live there have very little food and water. Life in Gaza is extremely hard.
According to the United Nations (UN), more than half of the population has lost their homes. Many people now live in tents or temporary shelters. Hospitals are full, and doctors do not have enough medicine or electricity to help the injured. Children cannot go to school, and there are not enough teachers or books. The lack of clean water and food has caused many people to become sick. International organizations such as the Red Crescent and UNICEF are trying to help by sending food and medical aid, but it is not enough. Because of the Israeli blockade, trucks with supplies cannot always enter Gaza easily. The European Union (EU) and many other countries have said that the Israeli attacks are “too strong” and go beyond what is necessary to fight Hamas. The EU wants both sides to stop fighting and start talking about peace. The United States (US) and Qatar tried to make a new peace plan, but Hamas said it could not accept it because the plan did not include a full end to the war or freedom for all Palestinian prisoners.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert also said that the government should stop this war because it has no clear goal and only causes more pain for both Israelis and Palestinians. Many Israeli families have also protested, asking for the return of their loved ones held as hostages. Everyday life is full of danger. People wake up to the sound of bombs and drones. Parents try to find food and water for their children. Internet and electricity only work a few hours a day. Some people write messages online to show the world what is happening, but many areas have no connection at all. Despite all the fear, people still try to stay strong and help each other.
The war in Gaza must stop soon. Thousands of innocent people are suffering every day. Both sides need to agree on a ceasefire and start peace talks. The international community should work together to send more aid, rebuild the city, and protect civilians. Every human has the right to live in peace, and the people of Gaza deserve a safe and hopeful future.
