Throughout history, some states have been established by the sword, some by revolution, and some by the investment accounts of foreign powers on the stock exchange. The Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC were established by the sword. Greece, Israel, and the Gulf monarchies are examples of states established not by people but by investment funds in the 19th and 20th centuries. All of these represent examples of "artificial state formation" within the energy-security-finance triangle of Western hegemony. Therefore, the conflicts in the region today are not wars of national interest, but wars of capital. Greece and Israel, which directly impact the security and geopolitics of the TRNC and Türkiye, emerged on the historical stage not as national wills but as "geopolitical stocks" in the stock market of hegemonic financial centers and energy capitalism. Today, Türkiye and the TRNC, founded by the sword, are under threat from two states established on the stock exchange under the auspices of global finance capital and hegemony, or rather, from the will that governs them. Greece was born in the 19th century in the debt markets of London and Paris bankers; Israel, on the other hand, was born in the 20th century in the financial network of Jewish bankers and Rothschild. Anglo-Saxon Hegemony is the owner of today's state-building model over Israel and Greece. Similarly, the admission of the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus to the EU in 2004 was a decision of the stock market, and therefore, the finance capital system. The Greek Cypriot Administration was granted EU membership after 2004, contrary to the Founding Agreements of the Republic of Cyprus, to undermine Türkiye's interests in the Eastern Mediterranean and to act as a proxy for global hegemony over its offshore natural gas reserves. The Ankara government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the time, capitulated to finance capital, not only remained silent in the face of this initiative but also acted with such a lack of geopolitical foresight that they even voted in favor of the Annan Plan. There is no precedent for this in history.
GREECE: THE STORY OF A STATE FOUNDED BY DEBT
Greece was born from loans provided by European banks while continuing its struggle for independence immediately after the 1821 rebellion. By the early 1800s, Europe had achieved the First Industrial Revolution, declared its hegemony along the lines of the Pax Britannica, and the time had come to consolidate its European identity. The definition of Europeanism was shaped by the trinity of Roman Law, Christianity, and Greek Philosophy. A border had to be drawn between the Turks and Europe, and Balkanization had to be initiated to dismantle the medieval Ottoman Empire and transform it into a colony of the hegemony. The two primary actors in this process were Britain and Tsarist Russia. Following the rebellion that began after 1821, shares were issued on the London Stock Exchange in 1824 and 1825 based on a temporary loan of approximately 3 million pounds provided to the Greek government to support the establishment of Greece. In 1827, when the Turkish army suppressed the uprising on land, stocks plummeted, and the Royal Navy, taking on the Russians and French, burned the combined Ottoman-Egyptian fleet anchored at Pylos/Navarino without declaring war. Ottoman naval presence in the Ionian Sea was now severely damaged. After the Navarino raid, Greek stocks soared in 1830, creating new riches in England. The rebellion, which began in the Morea, spread northward, resulting in massive Turkish massacres. During this period, the Cycladic Islands in the Aegean were lost, and with no navy capable of recapturing and defending the islands, absolute Turkish sovereignty, which began in the 15th century, suffered its first blow in the islands. This was the reason why Greece was lent around 120% of its national income during its founding years. It should be noted that this debt was used solely to purchase all manner of weapons, ammunition, and uniforms from England. Greece used these financial resources within the framework of its national strategic goal, the Megali Idea (Great Idea), shaped by Pan-Hellenism, Orthodox Christianity, and hostility toward the Turks. From 1830 to the present, Greece served imperialism as a proxy state, winning in a gambling game. It continuously expanded its territory. Meanwhile, debt was engrained in the Greek state's genetic code; Greek independence was the first attempt at a tradition of building a country on the stock market. With Greece's NATO membership and US bases in the 20th century, and the EU's financial tutelage in the 21st, this chain of dependency has never been broken. The 2010 Greek debt crisis was not merely an economic collapse, but a historical continuation of the state's "stock market-based construction." Humiliated by the EU and especially Germany in those years, Greece continued its course as a US vassal after 2019. Aside from the bases in Dedeağaç and Crete Suda, it opened many of its bases, including the demilitarized islands, to US military use. During this period, they used Türkiye 's protection of the Blue Homeland's interests as a major threat and formed alliances with Israel in every field, including military cooperation. Today, they have a government that doesn't even criticize the genocide in Gaza.
BRITAIN, OIL, AND THE FOUNDATION OF ISRAEL
Israel, another country founded 148 years after Greece, was founded on the stock market—in the swamp of capitalism. Israel's declaration of statehood dates back to 1948, but the process of statehood began after the Second Industrial Revolution in the late 19th century. The emergence of the strategic importance of oil, the opening of the Suez Canal, which shortened the route to India, the British and German navies' shift from coal to oil, Germany's expansion from the continent to the sea, and most importantly, its rivalry with Britain in energy access through the Berlin-Baghdad-Hejaz railway project (much like today's China's Belt and Road Initiative), all contributed to Israel's founding from both a capitalist and geopolitical perspective. Oil became a tool not only for energy but also for financial domination. From the late 19th century onward, families like the Rothschilds and Rockefellers, the most influential figures in capitalism, combined oil and banking capital in a single axis. Thus, the foundations of the "natural resources-finance-politics" triangle, whose consequences have multiplied to this day, were laid. The warship, the Royal Navy, was the foundation of British sovereignty. The transition to the use of oil in warships was a development that would transform geopolitics. In 1912, Churchill declared, "The fate of the British navy depends on drops of oil." To secure its oil supply, Britain purchased a 51% stake in the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (today's BP) on behalf of the state in 1914. Thus, Iranian oil became a direct source of strategic fuel for the Royal Navy. Germany's focus on the Middle East via the Berlin-Baghdad pipeline and Britain's settlement in Iran laid the foundation for energy and geopolitics in the pre-World War I era. Meanwhile, during the years when Zionism emerged in institutional form (the 1897 Basel Congress), these capital structures, centered in London and Vienna, were directing global finance. Theodor Herzl's 1896 work, Der Judenstaat (The Jewish State), was both a reaction to antisemitism in Europe and a distinctly imperial strategic context. Especially from the 1900s onward, Britain began to view a Jewish settlement in Palestine as a means of controlling the oil corridor following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. The 1916 Sykes-Picot Agreement envisioned the division of Ottoman territory along energy lines. The purpose of this post is to: The aim was to reorganize the Middle East not on ethnic or religious grounds, but through control of oil and sea routes. The subsequent Balfour Declaration of 1917 was the product of this long process. As British Foreign Secretary Balfour stated in a letter to the Jewish capitalist Rothschild, this declaration was not merely religious or humanitarian, but rather part of an imperial strategy centered on oil and Suez. In short, the state in Palestine was not a promise of a "homeland" for the Jewish people, but rather a financial engineering document of British capital hegemony and part of the City of London's energy-based investment plan. At this point, Zionism is less an ideological movement than a private company of British imperial capitalism and the London Stock Exchange.
TRUMAN AND THE AMERICAN CENTURY
Following World War II, world hegemon shifted from London to Washington. The role of Israel's protectorate shifted from Britain, which had established Israel, to the United States during the Truman era. If World War I marked the beginning of Israel's sowing of its seeds in Palestine, World War II marked the culmination of those seeds. The establishment of Israel as a secular state by Ashkenazi Jews of European descent in 1948 was not merely a national liberation movement, but a bloodless transfer of energy and financial dominance within the Anglo-Saxon world. US President Harry S. Truman's decision to recognize and support Israel after 1945, unlike his predecessor, President Roosevelt, was shaped entirely around the axis of oil and control over West Asia. After 1948, the US envisioned Israel as the "keystone" of the energy vein stretching from Suez to the Persian Gulf. Rothschild capital was replaced by networks linked to Exxon, Standard Oil, Chase Manhattan, and the Federal Reserve. Thus, Israel became a state "forged on Washington's geopolitical exchange," just as Greece was forged by London bankers in the 19th century. After 1948, Israel became the most important outpost of US geopolitics in North Africa and West Asia. Despite the open objections of then-US President J.F. Kennedy, Israel became a nuclear state in the second half of the 1950s with French support. During the same period, Mizrahi (Orientals) and Sephardic (Spanish Jews) from the Middle East entered the system as subordinate classes. They were viewed as Eastern and backward, and excluded from education, the military, and the bureaucracy. Israel was saved from destruction by the US in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Following the OPEC oil crisis that same year, the Gulf monarchies were placed under full US control. Israel played a crucial role in this control. With the rise to power of the religious and nationalist Likud in 1977, Israel rapidly transformed its character. The Mizrahi, who had been humiliated for years, moved to the center of government through the Likud. Following Iran's loss in 1979, the US strengthened its stance in the region through military and political pressure. In 1980, the Carter Doctrine was announced. In his address to Congress on January 23, 1980, President Carter made the following historic statement: "Any attempt by an external force to seize control of the Persian Gulf region will be considered an attack on the vital interests of the United States. This attack will be prevented by all means, including military force."
The most important role in the Carter Doctrine was undoubtedly assigned to Israel. The 1980 Carter Doctrine marked the moment when the US declared the Gulf a zone of military interest. From that date on, Israel became the main base of this American strategy. During the Reagan era, the evangelical right and the religious nationalist Likud ideology merged. The discourse of the divine destiny of the Holy Lands, hand in hand with oil security, produced a new religious-neoliberal geopolitics. Today, this alliance is Netanyahu's strongest support in Washington. American evangelicalism has sanctified Israel's aggressive identity politics as "theological security." This is the ideology behind the genocide being carried out in Gaza. Israel, which protects US interests in the Gulf and provides covert nuclear deterrence against Soviet or Iranian influence, also constituted an indirect guarantee for the regime security of the Gulf monarchies, which lack military capacity. Throughout the Cold War, Israel served as both a Western outpost against Soviet expansion, a "natural security fund" for American energy companies, and a violent force for imperialism against states opposed to the United States. Israel was rewarded for its services to the United States by using US military power to achieve its own geopolitical objectives after the Cold War. This was achieved through the efforts of Zionism, neoconservatives, AIPAC, the Evangelical Church, the finance capital oligarchy, and technological giants dependent on Jewish capital. Following the discovery of rich natural gas reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean in the 1990s, the region's importance increased in three dimensions: control of the Suez Canal; the potential of Mediterranean natural gas to provide an alternative to Russian natural gas; and the opportunity for Israeli growth. Neoconservative geopolitics after September 11, 2001, served Israel entirely. Regimes and borders were changed in Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and Syria. The confluence of Israel, the wealth of natural gas resources off the coast of Palestine/Gaza, and the politics of Greater Israel paved the way for the genocide that has been unfolding in Palestine for the past two years. Israel has implemented the Clean Break report, drafted with American neocons in 1996, to the letter. Meanwhile, witnessing the decline of American and European firepower in the three-year-long Ukraine-Russia war, it has intensified its efforts to change regimes and destroy Iran's nuclear capabilities, the most important country in the resistance axis, before shifting American power to the Pacific against China. The US has consistently stood by Israel's every move, and thus, the US has lost credibility among the nations of the world. Israel attacked Iran on June 13, 2025. After suffering major counter-strikes in the last four days of the 12-day war, Israel was forced to request that the US President impose a ceasefire. As these lines are being written, the world is distracted by Trump's phony peace plan for Gaza. However, the number of American aircraft carrier strike groups and American air assets deployed to air bases in Qatar, Bahrain, and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus continues to grow. An attack on Iran would never come as a surprise.
POLITICAL INDEPENDENCE, ECONOMIC GUARDIANSHIP
The examples of both Israel and Greece demonstrate how the nation-state concept is transformed when it becomes intertwined with the geopolitical financial system. In this model, the state exists not for its own people but for the powers that finance it. Israel is the US's instrument for protecting Asian energy corridors; Greece is the Mediterranean logistics hub for the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC), the US, the EU, and NATO. Meanwhile, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) is a tool for exploiting resources within the jurisdictions of Türkiye Egypt, Lebanon, the TRNC, and Palestine on behalf of Western hegemony in Mediterranean natural gas projects. Global energy giants continue their seismic and drilling activities without restriction in the 13 licensed areas declared by the Rogue State of Southern Cyprus in 2007. All three states are like securities in the geopolitical portfolio of Western hegemony. Therefore, in geopolitical terms, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and the Athens Stock Exchange are essentially two sides of the same structure. Political legitimacy is tied to a financial confidence index. Three elements remain unchanged from the Balfour letter to the present: energy (oil, and today, natural gas and rare metals), war, and debt. In 1917, these three were in London's hands; in 1948, they were in Washington's. Today, global financial centers form military alliances to protect energy lines and, although no one except Atlanticists in Türkiye believes it anymore, use the rhetoric of "democracy" as a shield. Israel is the security arm of this structure, Greece the logistics arm. Collectively, they are security stocks traded on the geopolitical exchange of the Atlantic system.
TRNC ELECTIONS AND THE ALLIANCE OF GREEKS, ISRAEL, AND GREECE
Presidential elections will be held in the TRNC on October 19, 2025. These elections could be considered the most critical in the history of the TRNC. This is because they coincide with a period of shifting global order and will determine the future not only of the people of the TRNC but also of Turkey and the Blue Homeland. The two most significant changes that distinguish this election process from previous years are, firstly, the competition for ownership of the natural gas fields around the island, and secondly, Israel's emergence as a clear threat to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. There are numerous signs of this. We are living through a period in which a large, fanatical religious group affiliated with the Likud Party in Israel has openly declared its intention to eliminate the Turkish military presence in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and thereby liberate Southern Cyprus. Similarly, we are experiencing a period in which Turkey, due to financial pressures, has withdrawn from the areas west and south of our continental shelf in the Mediterranean since 2020 and has not returned, while the rogue Greek Cypriot state remains silent about the work carried out by the Norwegian research vessel, despite the licenses it has granted to TPAO in the TRNC's jurisdiction.
THE SILENT OCCUPATION OF THE GREECE AND ISRAEL
Relations between the Greek Cypriot Administration and Israel are rapidly developing in every field. The Republic of Cyprus recognized Israel in 1960, 30 years before Greece. The first Israeli President arrived on the island in 1998. Following the Likud Party's radical religious orientation and shift towards nationalism, the island became a leading target of Greater Israel and Israeli geopolitics. Indeed, in the Zionist thought system, led by Theodor Herzl between 1896 and 1948, Cyprus was designed as a forward base for the colonization of Palestine. Today, it is known that the dominant British bases on the island have significantly contributed to Israel's success. Similarly, Israel also benefits from the Echelon Intelligence System, operated jointly by the UK and the US. Open sources allege that surveillance and cyber networks linked to the Israeli Secret Service Unit 8200 are deployed in Cyprus, and that locals are being recruited for luxury housing and high salaries. Although deeply anti-American parties like AKEL oppose developing relations with Israel, a US vassal, the Greek Cypriot Administration, established on the stock exchange, is unable to act outside of US and EU impositions. In this context, 2025 marked the peak of relations between the three countries in every field. Today, 25% of tourists visiting the island come from Israel. Nearly half a million Israelis visited the island in 2024. This number increased even further after 2025. Since 2021, more than 4,000 properties have been sold to Jews around Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos. In 2018, the island was home to 6,500 Jews, but today, that number has risen to 16,000. According to media reports, the Jewish Foundation Yael in Limassol owns a €50 million educational complex and is part of a global education network with the motto "No Jewish Child Left Behind." There are Jewish neighborhoods in Southern Cyprus that are officially off-limits to Greek Cypriots. The Greek Cypriot President is not bothered by this situation.
President Nikos Christodoulides emphasized a close partnership with Israel during Israeli President Herzog's visit to the island in May 2025, saying, "Today, they told me we have 110 flights from Israel to Cyprus every week. We can also increase Cypriot visits to Israel... We have a neighbor who constantly tries to stir up trouble in our neighborhood." Greek and Greek Cypriot politicians, believing that the EU and NATO will not provide them with assurances regarding defense and security, prefer to seek refuge in Israel's military guarantee and surrender to Zionist policies. They are focusing on transforming the Israel-Greek Cypriot-Greek format, which was strengthened after the announcement of the India Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) under US leadership in 2023, into a model of military cooperation and alliance under US leadership.
Particularly during the 12-day Israel-Iran war that began on June 13, 2025, the arrival of numerous Israelis with financial means and boat ownership to the island, and the arrival of Israelis fleeing the war via numerous flights until Netanyahu restricted air travel, played a significant role in the development of this understanding. In this respect, EU member Southern Cyprus serves as both a safe haven for Israel and a forward base supporting Israeli naval and air strikes. On January 24, 2025, the Greek Minister of Defense stated the following regarding these relations: “The close cooperation between Greece, Israel, and the Republic of Cyprus is a pillar of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.” Two weeks later, on February 4, 2025, Greek Cypriot Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas stated, “Israel will have privileged status at Paphos Air Base… Israelis can be in Cyprus in three minutes; it takes some time for Greece to provide support.” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who met with the Greek Cypriot Administration and Greek Foreign Ministers on March 13, 2025, said, “Our trilateral framework is a regional strategic partnership focused on our common interests, such as energy, economy, and national security.”
THOSE FOUNDED ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE AGAINST STATES FOUNDED BY THE SWORD
This stage was not reached overnight. In Turkey, the national navy and army were dismantled in the Ergenekon and Balyoz conspiracies, and replaced by FETÖ militants. On December 17, 2010, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) and Israel signed an EEZ delimitation agreement, completely contrary to Turkey's maritime interests. The Defense Cooperation Agreement signed between Israel and Greece in 2011, and between Israel and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus in 2016, increased both armament and exercises (the Noble Dina/Mermaid series) against Turkey and the TRNC. In 2017, Israel, Greece, and Southern Cyprus launched the "Great Sea Interconnector" offshore power line project. In 2019, these three countries, along with Egypt, France, the US, and EU countries (even Palestine), established the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, which excluded Turkey. In 2020, the US lifted the arms embargo on Southern Cyprus. Thanks to the IMEC transport corridor, they included India in the anti-Turkey and TRNC front in 2023. In 2025, Greece implemented a major €28 billion arms procurement plan to increase its defense capacity by 2037. At the heart of the plan is the "Achilles' Shield" air defense system, inspired by Israel's Iron Dome system, and the procurement of 38 PULS missile systems from Israel. This system has a range of 300 km and threatens bases and strategic positions in western Turkey. The alliance format against Turkey and the Blue Homeland was formalized with the "American-Greek-Israeli Eastern Mediterranean Counterterrorism and Maritime Security Partnership Act," passed by the US Congress in April 2025.
These developments should be evaluated in light of an anonymous article published in the Jerusalem Post on May 11, 2025, titled "Turkey's Regional Ambitions Can Only Be Stopped by Building a Kurdish Nation." The article stated: "The only way to stop Turkey in Syria or Iraq is to help the Kurds establish their own political agenda. A Kurdish nation-state, established on its historical lands and with access to the Mediterranean via Latakia, is essential. Once established, this state must possess the necessary defensive tools and weapons to repel any territorial assault." Shortly after this news, Israeli media began to publish ludicrous statements by anti-Turkey Likud fanatics, claiming, "Northern Cyprus is now Israel's strategic problem; a military operation must be planned." Shortly after this propaganda, it was discovered that Israel had received the Barak MX air defense system from the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, for which the contract was signed at the beginning of 2025.
CONCLUSION
The Greek Orthodox world, which only recognized Israel after the end of the Cold War in 1990, has become Israel's staunchest ally. The current closeness between Greek Cypriots and Greece and Israel is one of the most ironic scenes in history. The Greek Orthodox world, which once stoning Jews for "Jesus' murderers" on Easter and burning down their neighborhoods with blood libels, has now forgotten the same belief system's fifteen-hundred-year-old hostility toward "Judas" and become Israel's staunchest ally. This same Greek Orthodox world, seeking the assurance of the Jews, with whom it has become closer for geopolitical reasons, has not only abandoned its centuries-old hostility toward the Turks, but has also escalated it. Today, for the first time in history, the US, Greece, Israel, and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus are forming a bloc against Turkey in the Mediterranean, an alliance system under the umbrella of counterterrorism and maritime security. Cyprus, as a gateway to Europe at the mouth of the Suez Canal, provides a point of intersection between the Israel/US-Greek triangle and Turkey, while also serving as the intersection of the Russia/Iran-China line—the resistance front—that stands tall against hegemony. Therefore, the island has become a veritable chessboard for global, continental, and regional powers. Therefore, the newly elected President should be aware that he will assume this office during the most complex and challenging period in history. Today, two religious cultures, once enemies of one another for 1,500 years, are coming together against the duality of Turkey and Northern Cyprus, forged by the sword. What unites them is not only geopolitical factors but also the fact that they are established on the stock exchange, in other words, the global finance capital oligarchy imposes their unity. In short, the Greek Cypriot Administration has become a proxy for the US and Israel. Under these circumstances, the trilateral defense axis of Israel, Greece, and the deployment of air defense systems like the Barak MX in Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean increases the risk of de facto contact with Turkey. Meanwhile, Ankara is in turmoil over having fallen into the trap of the US and Israel in Syria, a trap it has willingly chosen. The US, EU, and Israel may provoke Turkey with military conflicts in Syria and Cyprus to wear it down with unwinnable wars and accelerate its economic collapse. Israel's escalating aggression, coupled with the vagueness of NATO's implementation of Article 5, is opening the door to unforeseen crises for Turkey. Having alienated Russia in Syria, Ankara has no longer any strong allies in the Eastern Mediterranean to stand by. Greece, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, and Israel are aware of this. In this context, we cannot ignore the fact that we will face very serious and vital developments both in the Mediterranean and east of the Euphrates.
In such a climate, the people of Northern Cyprus are going to the polls. Today, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, established by the sword, is under open threat from Greece, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, and Israel, all of which were established through the stock market. Regardless of the elected president, the imposition of the US, the UK, the EU, and Israel on the island, their approach to a federal solution, and their support for the withdrawal of Turkish troops pose far greater dangers than the Annan Plan scandal of 2004. The TRNC is an internal hub between Israel, Greece, and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus. Its only security lies in Anatolia. Advocating that the TRNC abandon its independence with the promise of EU membership, a country that has been declining, deindustrialized, become a US colony, and internally divided, is tantamount to ascending to the upper decks of a sinking Titanic. Given the experiences in Syria and Gaza, coupled with Israel's ever-increasing aggression and lawlessness, pursuing a federal solution is a complete disaster of shortsightedness. Meanwhile, Turkey must never, ever abandon its independent TRNC, regardless of the financial pressures it faces. Turkey, which has recently failed to remove foreign vessels conducting research in the TRNC's maritime jurisdiction, must correct its dismal record on this matter. The statements and protests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must be backed by the ground. Western enemies of Turkey should not be given fodder in the TRNC by misguided actions in every field. The issue is vital. Having experienced the Annan disaster in both Turkey and the TRNC, Turkey cannot afford to experience a second wave of betrayal under current geopolitical circumstances. Those who fall prey to the stock market's trap face either extinction or suicide. Those who founded states by the sword 1,000 years ago cannot bow to the states established on the stock exchange and those behind them. The newly elected President must champion the unity of the Motherland, the Blue Homeland, and the Foster Homeland, as well as the continuity of the independent TRNC. They must be the ones to admonish politicians and statesmen in Turkey who have shown any slackness in this regard.
