Critical Warning from Scientists: “The Climate Crisis is Not an Exaggeration, Urgent Action is Required”

At the National Emergency Summit held in Westminster,London on November 27, 2025, scientists and security experts emphasized that the climate crisis is no longer merely an environmental threat.

Speeches at the summit stated that global warming directly impacts national security, the economy, public health, and food systems.

Professor Kevin Anderson called for urgent action, saying, "Either a rapid and equitable decarbonization process must be initiated, or there will be a fundamental disruption to infrastructure and social structures." Prof. Nathalie Seddon stated that ecosystem collapses are disrupting the climate balance and posing a serious threat to human life. Former defense commander Richard Nugee described the climate crisis as a "slow but insidious security threat" and highlighted the vulnerabilities in infrastructure and energy systems.

The summit's unified message: Claims that the climate crisis is exaggerated are losing validity in the face of scientific data. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and ecosystem loss necessitate urgent and comprehensive measures.
